Speaking about corporate look. What choices do we have for our attire and uniforms? There are limited few, like the navy blue, black, gray, white and royal blue, to name a few. Sometimes people run out of ideas on what to wear for work. To make matters worse, for some uncreative people, especially when they run out of ideas, they just put on some random
tailored shirts without thinking how funny and strange they look wearing and pulling such fashion. For some, which is already the worst case scenario, they are pushed to wear inappropriate clothes and those that are not very professional and that are definitely not the impression we want to achieve if we want a raise .
For some women, they wear sleeveless dress shirts thinking that it would be okay, but are really not. However, wearing these kinds of clothes does not necessarily mean an act of disrespect, but because due to the lack of choices, and not really from the lack of respect to officemates, especially to the upper management people.
Though, we may not be aware of it at times, but we can achieve the formal look by rummaging deep inside our closets. You just need to have some of th essentials for formal fashion, such as blazer, a pair of slacks and a pencil skirt for the women, or custom shirts for the guys, you can have a 7-day wardrobe by pairing these up with some of your semi-casual clothes.
For Monday, put on a pencil skirt, throw on any blouse and add the blazer on. Play up with the accessories. It’s very unlikely to run out of choices as long as you know how to play things up. Don’t be scared to mix and match but never go overboard. It is important to consider the clothes to wear and to avoid the clothes that are inappropriate. Therefore, avoid sleeveless shirts among other informal clothing for women, and even for guys, as well. There are lots of available options for us, we just need to be creative enough. What's important is, we keep a good reputation at work, which will make us deserving to get a pay raise.
